"COMMAND THEM TO DO GOOD, TO BE RICH IN GOOD WORK, TO BE GENEROUS AND READY TO SHARE WITH
OTHERS.",
I Timothy 6:18

Blood Drive Helper
At New Providence, mission work involves our entire congregation. We believe we must give more than just financial support to send others to perform mission work. We must use our own time and talents, at home and away, to help those in need and to engage in meaningful service to Christ. The Mission Committee has developed a wide range of mission activities so that all members of our congregation can participate.
Our mission work entails:
- providing meals and worship services for the Valley Mission Shelter;
- participating in the Kingsway Food Pantry food drive;
- donating socks, hats, and gloves to the Zaccheaus House, a homeless shelter in Washington, D.C.;
- preparing more than 100 "shoeboxes" of childrens' gifts as part of Samaritan's Purse worldwide relief;
- giving hundreds of supplies to the Valley Mission Shelter through our scroll project;
- and working on local mission projects to help repair homes for people in our community and our church.
Financial offerings are utilized to support:
- the "four cents a meal" effort to financially support Kingsway Food Pantry;
- the One Great Hour of Sharing;
- Sunnyside Retirement Community;
- Presbyterian Homes and Family Service;
- Joy Gift;
- Weekday Religious Education in both Rockbridge and Augusta Counties;
- the Ethiopian Child Project;
- a Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship missionary;
